ESL 10 Commandments

esl books

1.  Thou shalt teach the language, not about the language.

2.  Thou shalt not make the structure of the language your idol.

3.  Thou shalt not forget to use supporting materials.

4.  Remember thy target group, and keep it in mind.

5.  Honor your teaching methodology, so that your days may be long in the classroom.

6.  You shall create complex interactions among the students, breaking out the IRE (Individual Response Education).

7.  You shall not talk too fast or slur your words.

8.  You shall not allow the class to get bog down.

9.  You shall not bore your students, but show them you own love for learning.

10.  You shall not covet someone else’s teaching gifts, but use your own God-given abilities to the highest.
